Been very blessed. Still running my construction company.
I have written over 90 short pieces over the past 15 years or so. Most can be found on Huffington Post.
I published a book with a few friends titled Insights From Inside. It is a collection of letters written by inmates reaching out to young people discussing their bad decisions. We are grass-rootsing it around the country. Please touch base if you can help get our book in kids hands.
I also lead a group called the Habitat Road Trip Crazies. We travel (when COVID is not in play) three or four times a year to help small communities stir up some Habitat For Humanity excitement. If interested you can Google the Habitat Road Trip Crazies to find out more about us.
I do some public speaking for Habitat as well as speaking to other service/volunteer organizations about community involvement and making a difference. My presentation is titled Aspire To Inspire Before You Expire. I hope to be doing more of that once it is again safe. If you need a speaker for an event or organization, please let me know.
Peace, To5m (the 5 is silent)

Ms. Erma, Every time another classmate shows up it makes me grin just a bit. I want to thank you and all who are working on a possible reunion for all you are doing. Peace, To5m (the 5 is silent)

Ms. Erma, I checked out a couple of the sites you participate in- Merryheartink and One Christian Voice. They both have some strong messages. I wanted to submit something for consideration but I had trouble with both of them. I am sure the problem is on my end. So I figured I would take a different route. I have written a few pieces that I thought might have a message worthy of these sites. The titles are below and can be found Googling the title and Tom Gerdy.-------For It's Money They Have and Peace They Lack............The Magical Sound of Gunfire in LA..............Theodor Geisel Was Right.......................Lessons From The Invisible People...........................The Play-Doh Theory of Life...........................................If so inclined, there are two others that I like to share. One is about parenting in the "too much information" age titled Unicorns, Leprechauns, and the Perfect Parent. The final one is about my parents deaths that were 16 hours apart titled "Cheap Funeral and Good Party", An Amazing Final Gift. Peace, Tom

Ms. Sara Jean, Are you still working in the ministry? I helped publish a book that we are trying to get in young peoples hands titled Insights From Inside. You can Google and to check it out. It is a grass roots effort to help young people think before making a bad decision that could change their lives forever in horrible ways. If interest please email me at tgerdy@gmail.com. Peace, Tom

Ms. Barbara, We did a blitz build with the Morris County HFH a couple years ago. Were you volunteering with them at that time? If you still are involved with them, say hello to Blair for me. Peace, Tom

Todd, I hope you are grinnin' today. I ran with you guys on the "fun" run. I have to question using the word "fun" connected to me being on the road running. At 6'2" 260 lbs. it is not a pretty sight or not much fun. Looking forward to the virtual reunion. Hopefully we can soon see everyone in person as well. It is always good to cross paths with people you shared those school years and memories with. (I had to confirm that it is alright to end a sentence with a preposition. My sources said no problem.) Peace, Tom

Ms. Nancy, I hope you are grinnin' today. I see you are a teacher. What grade and are you still teaching? One of my son's in-laws have a place on the north shore of Lake Travis. We spent a weekend there a couple of years ago and had a great time.

Sylvia, I graduated in '71. I am married to Jane Patrisso who graduated with you. I happened to see what you do for a living and wanted to share something with you. I helped compile and publish a book titled, Insights From Inside. You can check it out at www.insightsfrominside.com
It is a collection of letters from inmates reaching out to young people and talking about the bad decisions they made. The DA's office in Lynchburg, VA where we live has used it. If you see the value in it please share the link with your personal and professional networks. If you send me and address, I will send you a couple of copies. If you have any questions about it you can reach me at Tgerdy@gmail.com. Peace, Tom Gerdy

Ms. Anne, I occasionally check out what is happening on the PVHS site. I saw on your profile that you were a social worker. Please check out a book I helped compile and publish titled Insights From Inside. I hope it is something that you could use in your work. We are trying to use a grassroots approach to getting this in the hands of as many young people as possible. I hope you see some value in it and can help us reach out. Respectfully, Tom Gerdy www.insightsfrominside.com
