Robert Frank Aldrich - Class Of 1964

Robert F. Aldrich, 72, died peacefully on Friday July 19,2019 listening to Mahler with his wife and daughter after being surrounded by family and friends at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. He leaves behind his beloved wife and life partner of 50 years, Linda (Reo) Aldrich; his son, CW04 Timothy R. Aldrich, USMC and his wife Barbara, his daughter Kristen (Aldrich) Wronko and her husband Dominick; his son Terrence Reilly, his grandchildren: Shelby, Savannah, Jenna and Joseph. He is predeceased by his grandson Corporal Aldrich, Tyler C.T. Dr Aldrich was born in Jersey City and grew up in Little Falls, NJ, the son of Frank and Winifred Aldrich and beloved brother of Philip Aldrich. He grew up with his cousins Donald, Joann, Kenneth, Richard and Jay. As a child he played baseball for Little Falls Little Athletic Club and was a lifelong fan of the Yankees. Graduating from Passaic Valley High School in 1964, he then graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BS degree in Biology and obtained his MD from the University of Virginia. He then served with the Public Health Service at the NIH in Washington, DC. and then went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at Yale University in New Haven, CT in 1978. Bob and Linda settled in Parsippany, NJ where he joined Cardiology Associates of North West Jersey. In 2001, Bob and Linda fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming innkeepers of The Inn at Weston in Weston, Vermont. His hobbies and interests were many. He taught himself music and in his 40’s enjoyed piano lessons in NYC. He had vast knowledge in the topics of Astronomy, Physics, Literature, English History, Religion, Horticulture, and Photography. He loved orchids and had the largest private orchid greenhouse in Vermont. He had a passion for gardening and his garden was a favorite among the Long Valley Garden Tour. He was a beloved physician by his patients, a mentor and friend to many and his gentle nature and demeanor will be forever remembered.
