Gene Capalbo, 79, formerly of Little Falls, died Thursday, May 22, 2025.
Born in Paterson, New Jersey, Gene resided in Little Falls for most of his life before retiring to Deerfield Beach, Florida. He returned to New Jersey, residing in Lavallette, where he continued to enjoy life near water. Gene found peace by the water, boating, fishing, crabbing, or simply watching the tide. Boating was his true passion. He loved good food, classic westerns, old country music, and cheering on the Yankees and the Giants. Air shows thrilled him, especially the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. Above all, Gene was a man of deep faith and simple joys, loved by all who knew him.
Professionally, Gene was an electrician with IBEW Local #102 of Parsippany.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Burns, in 1982; his parents, Eugene Capalbo I and Anna (nee Amilowski) Capalbo and his brother, Edward Capalbo.
Survivors include: his four children, Danny Capalbo of Long Beach, CA, Eugene Capalbo III of Wanaque, NJ, Jill De Craine of Succasunna, NJ and John Capalbo of Woodland Park, NJ; his seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kendra, Katie, Maryann, Amanda, John, Olivia and his great grandson, Gianni.
