If I remember correctly, Ray lived at the corner of what is now St. James Place and Lind Road in Totowa, cattycorner across the street from the property belonging to St. James Church. His parents were Lou and Wanda. I used to be in and out of their house all the time when I was a kid, because Ray was close to my family and I kind of idolized him. He was very patient with me. He was older than my brother and me and for a brief time he worked in my family's grocery store. When he became a state trooper, he used to give me things such as ammunition clips and the shells from spent bullets. For several years in a row, when Tony and I were young, Ray would call our house on Christmas Eve and pretend to be Santa Claus checking up on how we were behaving.
