Hi Karen,
Happy Birthday to You!
Earlier today, I received an early birthday wish from fellow PV classmate Al Moussab, with whom I share a birthday on the 15th. He commented, "… always glad to wish a fellow classmate happy birthday." In replying in kind to him, I recalled to myself (and him) that today is your birthday, and we've been classmates since First Grade. Washington Park looks so different than when we were there. I took the attached picture when in town for the Reunion in June.
Again, Happy Birthday, and many more.
Steve Wells
Hi Al,
Happy Birthday to You, too. Also late. Sorry!
The PV website doesn't make it clear what name to use after a complete name change. My legal filing was way back on February 29, 1980, so I've been Steve Wells ever since.

I am saddened to hear of Frank’s passing. Of anyone in our class, my memories of him go back the farthest, from when we were toddlers living next door to each other on Greene Avenue. In our youth and teen years, we spent a lot of time together along with other local great friends (Bob DeVito and Frank Belmont are among the first to come to mind), some of whom are still with us. We all had many fun times and adventures: inhabiting snow caves from the gigantic snowfalls circa 1960, riding bikes, helping along on his paper route, stopping at Cozy Sweet Shop or Pappy’s Diner.
Summer evenings we climbed up and sat on his garage roof. Daytimes, we sat in his screened-in back porch playing with his mother’s vintage Monopoly set (with houses made of wood, before plastic), and we spent inordinate hours down in his basement. One memorable night we slept over, throwing darts (Phil Aquila threw one that stuck in Frank’s leg) and watching late night TV’s wonderfully awful horror movies, including Attack of the Giant Leeches and King of the Zombies. Some other nights we were all at Dave Dhuyvetter’s, watching more late night TV, swimming in his pool, and exploring the nearby construction sites and model homes in the wee hours.
There are too many small and large memories that go way back to elaborate fully here: ducks, and “The Horses,” and Christmas lights, brother Paul’s backwards bike, and Frank’s great artistic drawings.
Suffice to say, I am glad that Frank is survived by loving family, and I am sorry for their sad loss and our loss.
Requiescat in pace.
